For professionals

NEWS

As part of the project, we are inviting all relevant professionals to join one of two webinars where we will share our research findings and launch an exciting video of the main recommendations created from our work. If you are a teacher, sport coach or otherwise support neurodivergent youth – have a look at the advert below and sign up now!

As part of the project, we conducted 2 workshops with 19 professionals from the wider Bristol area. Participants included sport coaches, staff from sport providers, former PE teachers, as well as professionals working in neurodivergence support or disability inclusion. We did this to ensure their expertise and experiences are included in our work and the outputs of our project are based on these insights. In addition to the 9 interviews we conducted with neurodivergent teenage girls and their parent/carer, we hoped this would provide a comprehensive overview of relevant barriers and facilitators to physical activity participation.

As a result of our research, we have created materials that we hope will be useful for professionals across different sectors, such as education, health and policy making. You can find the following outputs on this page:

  • An infographic with recommendations for more inclusive physical activity provisions
  • A video animation summarising our guidance for professionals (scroll to the bottom of this page)
